Contract Period

Residence Halls
The Residence Hall/Dining Agreement is a legally binding agreement that covers full academic year for those students who enroll in the fall semester and the full spring semester for those who enroll in spring classes only. The Agreement does not cover any of the break periods which include Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break, except in those limited spaces within the Lincoln Townhomes that are designated as 12 month contract rooms.

Apartments:

When students are assigned an apartment, they will be given a lease signing appointment where they will have the opportunity to read and sign their lease, transfer utilities and obtain keys. Leases may be set as year long, 9 month, and under 6 months. The lease students sign will sign clearly outline the timeframe that the lease is for.

ELIGIBILITY
To apply to live in any University Housing facility, students must also have applied and approved for admission to Boise State University. All students must be enrolled in 8 or more credits by the time they physically move into University Housing with first priority being given to full fee paying students.

For University Suites and Yale Courts:
Students must meet one of the following criteria

For Lincoln Townhomes:
Students must meet one of the following criteria

For University Apartments:
Students must meet one of the following criteria

Other situations will be looked at on a limited, individual basis. Students that do not meet these requirements but who feel they have extenuating circumstances that may warrant a closer look are encouraged to submit the specifics of their situation in writing University Housing for consideration.

*This may include situations surrounding some incoming transfer students.

OCCUPANT ELIGIBILITY FOR UNIVERSITY APARTMENTS

If the relationship of proposed occupant is a family member, approval will be granted if:

  1. The proposed occupant does not have any felony convictions AND
  2. If the proposed occupant has not been evicted from any rental premises

If the relationship of proposed occupant is a roommate, approval will be granted if:

  1. The proposed occupant is also a Boise State student AND
  2. If the proposed occupant does not have any felony convictions AND
  3. If the proposed occupant has not been evicted from any rental premises AND
  4. If the proposed occupant meets the minimum eligibility criteria for living in apartments

In such a case, 'Student' must be selected as the relationship in the apartment application and must also include the Student ID for the proposed occupant.
