APPLICATION FEE & SECURITY DEPOSIT
Residence Halls:
Full payment of a $25 non refundable application fee and $225 security deposit must be received before University Housing can process an application and make an assignment to a specific facility.
Returning Residential student’s current security deposits will be refunded at the completion of the current academic year less any damage fees. Returning residential students who reapply for housing in the spring for the upcoming year will need to submit a $150 returner deposit at the time they re-apply (which includes a non refundable $25 application fee). Idaho state law allows up to 30 days to process refunds.
Apartments:
For the apartments, once an apartment offer has been made and accepted, a $225 non-refundable reservation fee will be posted to students’ Bronco Web account which will need to be paid within 72 hours. The reservation fee will be converted to the security deposit at the lease signing.
ASSIGNMENT TO SPACES
Residence Halls:
Room assignments to specific living spaces for new students generally begin in April and are ongoing until the fall semester begins, and will be made in the order that the deposit received. Current residential student’s self-assignment period generally begins in mid-March for those who reapply during the priority period of January 17 through February 17, but more details will be released during their application period.
Current residential students who apply after the priority reapplication period (February 17th and after) will lose their priority in placement and will not be assigned to spaces until August 1 or after depending on availability of vacancies at that point in time. Students can indicate their preferences for roommates, room types and halls on the application. Early application is encouraged, to increase the possibility of students receiving their preferences. All communication from University Housing, including information regarding specific room assignments will ONLY be sent to Bronco email accounts.
Apartments:
University Housing offers one, two, and three bedroom apartments. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis, although families with children have first priority for three bedroom units. Students may be placed on the application waitlist and will be notified when an apartment is available that meets the criteria specified on their application (move in date, complex, number of bedrooms, etc.). It is essential that University Housing be given a number where the applicant can be reached during the day and is informed of any changes in address, telephone number or apartment requirement.
