Academic Year: the term used to refer to the time period from August 24 to May 16.
Blackboard: an electronic campus, professors post class information on Blackboard.
Bronco Mail: this is your student email account, Bronco Mail is how all University communications are sent to students. You should always check your Bronco Mail account.
Bronco Web: your Internet connection to Boise State University, all information regarding your academic or work history is located on Bronco Web. This is also where you will register for all classes and where you can check your student financial account.
Co-ed: refers to a mixture of males and females in an educational setting; e.g., co-ed residence hall.
DKMT: the abbreviation used to refer to the cluster of residence halls in the center of campus: Driscoll, Keiser, Morrison, Taylor
DKMT Courtyard: the grassy area in the middle of Driscoll, Keiser, Morrison, Taylor where students play Frisbee, hang out, and attend fun activities.
NRHH (National Residence Hall Honorary): a student group that works with RHA; main purpose is to provide recognition to outstanding student leaders in the residence halls.
OTM (Of the Month): a recognition program sponsored by NRHH and RHA that recognizes top student leaders, programs, and initiatives in the residence halls each month.
The Quad: refers to the grassy area in the middle of campus in between the Administration Building and the library.
PA (Program Assistant): a Residential College student employee who helps faculty plan programs for the Residential Colleges.
Payments and Disbursements Office: located on the second floor of the administration building, this is where all payments can be made.
RA (Resident Advisor): a student employee who lives in the residence halls and can help residents adjust to life at BSU.
RC (Residential College): a group of people who are interested in the same academic discipline or interdisciplinary interest that live together in the same community.
RD (Resident Director): professional employee who supervises the residence halls.
UHA (University Housing Association): a programming and governing body for residence halls; UHA serves as the umbrella organization for all the residence hall councils; UHA is a great way to get involved and be a campus leader.
Residence Hall: where students live, grow, make lasting friendships, and get involved in campus life; some people who have never “lived-in” may still refer to them as “dorms,” but we know better
Student Account: can be viewed through Bronco Web. It is where all fees associated with Boise State are posted.
Student ID Card/Bronco Card: this is your ticket to BSU. Your student ID card is your key to the residence halls; it also stores your meal plan and allows you to check out books at the library; carry it with you at all times.
SUB (Student Union Building): a great location for campus involvement, eating at TRC and other food court options.
BRC (Boise River Café): the main food service option for residence hall students; numerous other students, faculty and staff purchase meals to eat with residents.
University Suites: an upper class residence hall with an optional meal plan.
