HOUSING APPLICATIONS & DEPOSITS

When and where can I make my $250 housing deposit?
Payments are made by signing on to your BroncoWeb account and paying with a credit card or electronic check OR to the Payments and Disbursements Office (208-426-1212) using a check, cash or credit card. [back]

If I paid my housing deposit and my friend from home that I would like to room with has not, can I still pick a room and reserve the other bed for my roommate?
No. All students that wish to be assigned to a bedspace must have paid their housing deposits by the time room assignments are made. You will need to find another roommate to live with otherwise we will assign you to an open bedspace. Please plan ahead, not only for yourself, but also for your roommate(s). [back]

What happens to my $250 deposit if I apply now and then decide to cancel my assignment at a later time?
If you notify University Housing in writing of your intent to cancel by July 25th, we will refund the deposit (less a $25 application processing fee). If you notify us after July 25th, your deposit is forfeited. To notify us in writing, send an email to bsuhousing@boisestate.edu from your Broncoweb email account and include your name and student ID number. [back]

Is there a deadline for submitting a Residence Hall application?
No. However, as soon as you have made the decision to attend Boise State, we suggest that you submit your application for housing. Spaces become limited in late spring/early summer and you will not be able to use BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM after May 4th, so the sooner you apply and deposit, the better your chances are of getting your preferences. [back]

WHEN AND HOW DO I CHOOSE A ROOM & ROOMMATE?

Okay, so I submitted my online application and my deposit. Now what?
Once you have completed the application and deposit, you have nothing further to do until the beginning of February. At that time, you will receive an email from University Housing to let you know that the BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM Roommate Matching Program is up and ready and will include your individualized log on. [back]

What is BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM?
University Housing is VERY excited to offer this inventive program to assist you in choosing your roommate for the upcoming year. BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM functions similarly to other social networking sites like Facebook. You will get a log-in and password from University Housing which will allow you to access the system the first time. After your first time, you will be able to set your own secure password. Once you are securely logged in, you will be able to create a profile indicating your interests, hobbies and preferences in living arrangements. You will be able to search for other students with similar preferences and communicate with them to determine your compatibility. Once you have found someone that you feel you would fit best with as a roommate, you will be able to select them as a preferred roommate within the BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM system. [back]

How secure is BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM?
It’s very secure. Only students who have applied to University Housing will be able to access the site. BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM is monitored by their profession staff and if anything inappropriate or offensive is posted, they will notify us ASAP so we can deactivate the profile and follow up as appropriate with the offending party. [back]

How long do I have to complete the process of selecting a preferred roommate?
After you get the email at the beginning of February with your log in information, you will have until May 4th to make a roommate preference selection. [back]

What happens if I don’t select any roommates by May 4th?
After May 4th, we will go ahead and randomly assign you to a roommate based on the questions you answered in your University Housing Application. [back]

How will University Housing know which roommate I selected in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM?
After May 4th, University Housing will get a report from BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM indicating the names and information of those students who selected roommates. We will then import that information into our database to make the matches where appropriate if bed availability allows. [back]

What happens if I select a roommate in the University Housing application and THEN later go and select a roommate in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM?
If you select a different roommate in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM AFTER you initially named another student in your application, the selection in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM on May 4th will override your initial selection. [back]

Is there any possibility that I won’t get the roommate that I select in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM?
Yes, this is possible. A number of variables may cause this to happen such as your roommate not choosing YOU as their preferred roommate, you and your roommate selecting different room types as preferences (example: if you ONLY choose single rooms in Chaffee as an option, and your preferred roommate ONLY selects doubles in Towers, you will not be matched) or if bed spaces are limited at the time you are assigned. [back]

What if my preferred roommate(s) have not deposited by May 4th?
In this situation we will not be able to place you in a room with your preferred roommate. Any student who applies to University Housing can search the BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM system, but only those who have also deposited by May 4th will be able to be assigned to a bed space. [back]

How do I use BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM if I apply for housing after May 4th?
Unfortunately, you will not be able to use this exciting new program. After May 4th, the majority of our new students will have already selected a roommate and will have a fall room assignment which will be emailed to their Broncoweb email account. This means there would only be a limited number of people searching for a roommate to share a limited number of rooms, which will be much more difficult to coordinate. So it’s very important that you have applied to University Housing, submitted your $250 deposit, and created an online profile in BOISESTATE.ROOMMATECLICK.COM prior to May 4th. [back]

As a new residential student, where can I choose to live next year?
New residential students can select rooms in Chaffee Hall, Keiser Hall, Taylor Hall, Morrison Hall, and Towers Hall for the upcoming year. Driscoll is available only to those students who have been accepted into the Honor’s Program. Additionally, there are spaces for first year students in University Suites if you are a part of the Arts & Humanities Residential College or our Global Village Program. For more specifics about each of our halls, including photos, please visit http://housing.boisestate.edu/livingoptions/reshalls. [back]

When will I be notified of my room assignment?
Students will begin to receive notification of room assignments around mid-May each year for the following academic year. The assignment letter will have important information about the hall you will live in, programs for fall, move-in information, and how to contact your roommate(s). [back]
