How do I add value to on my ID card for use in the machines?
You’ll have two options for putting value on a card: 1) Go over to either the Payment & Disbursement (P&D) office or the Info desk in the SUB or 2) Call the P&D office (426-1212) or Info desk at the SUB (426.4636) and make the transaction over the phone with a credit/debit card.[back]

Is there a minimum amount of value I can put on my card?
Yes. The minimum amount you can add is $5.00. You can add value in increments of $5.00.[back]

Can I use the washing/drying value on my ID card some place else?
Yes, the value added to your card will be in the form of Bronco Bucks. Information about Bronco bucks can be found at http://www.boisestate.edu/broncocard/broncobucks.shtml [back]

Do I lose the value left on my card at the end of the term/school year?
Your card can be used for other services on campus, but if you want to have the remaining balance refunded, you should request it from the Student ID Office. [back]

 

How do I tell how much value remains on my card?
Your balance will be displayed whenever you use your card. [back]

If I lose my card and get a new one, will the value I had on my old card automatically be on the new card?
Yes. It works the same way as Bronco Bucks. [back]

How much will a dry cost?
Drying your clothes will take approximately 40 minutes depending on type of clothes and the amount of clothes you put in the dryer. Units of drying time are 20 minutes long and cost $.50. [back]

How much will a wash cost?
Washing your clothes will take approximately 30 minutes and will cost $1.00. The washer is an energy efficient machine that requires only 1/4 of a cup of detergent to do a large load. Any more than that and the clothes won't rinse. [back]

Can I transfer value from my card to my roommate’s card?
No. Any value added to your ID card is for your use only and cannot be transferred.
Students who are continuing in the residence halls must apply during February 27, 2009 - March 23, 2009. The calendar on the website has all of the dates that you’ll need when reapplying for housing. [back]



Problems with Washer and Dryers


What do I do if my card is debited more than the cost of a wash/dry load?
Report the issue to your front desk and submit a TMA work request. Provide as much information about the issue as possible and include the washer or dryer number, your contact information, name, room number, cell phone, and e-mail address. The Housing staff will conduct a review and refund you any difference in what you were charged compared to load values. [back]

Yes, provided you are a current residential student and the guest of a resident of that hall. [back]

No. Your card is the only way to access the machines. [back]

How do I start a washer?
The display messages and steps to select a normal wash cycle are as follows:

1. Select an unused washer and note the washer’s number.
2. When the laundry reader displays the message USE CASH OR CARD, swipe the card downward so that the magnetic strip brushes against the right side of the card guide.
3. When the display changes to MACHINE # ?, enter the washer number. To correct an error in entering the washer number, press CLEAR and re-enter the washer number.
4. Press ENTER.
5. The reader shows the washer number and charge for its use. It displays a message (such as #1234 = $1.25) for three seconds then changes to an alternating display of ENTER TO START or CLEAR TO CANCEL.
6. To change or cancel your selection, press CLEAR. The program will return to step 2.
7. Press ENTER if selection was correct.
8. The message SENDING… appears.
9. The reader will show the patron’s account balance with the charge for machine use deducted. It displays a message (such as BALANCE $325.75) briefly then changes to STARTING: 1234 (1234 is the machine number specified in step 3). [back]

How do I start a dryer?

Adding additional dry cycles
To add cycles to a dryer that is already running, follow this procedure:
1. Select an unused dryer and note the dryer’s number.
2. When the laundry reader displays the message USE CASH OR CARD, swipe the card downward so that the magnetic strip brushes against the right side of the card guide.
3. When the display changes to MACHINE # ?, enter the dryer number. To correct an error in entering a dryer number, press CLEAR and re-enter the dryer number.
4. Press ENTER.
5. The reader displays the machine number and status of the machine. It displays a message (such as #1234 RUNNING) briefly, followed by the message ADD EXTRA CYCLES.
6. The display changes to EXTRA CYCLES? = , where the default value of 0 indicates no extra cycles are selected.
7. If no additional drying time is needed, press ENTER or CANCEL. For additional drying time, enter the number of cycles.
8. The cost to add extra cycles displays briefly followed by the message ENTER TO START. This message alternates with CLEAR TO CANCEL for about 60 seconds.
9. Press ENTER if selection is correct.
10. To change or cancel your selection, press CLEAR. The program returns to step 2.
11. The message SENDING… appears. 1
2. The message changes to ADD CYCLES: 1234. 1234 is the number of the dryer to which you added additional cycles. [back]
