What is the College of Business & Economics Residential College?
The College of Business and Economics (COBE) Residential College Community is an integrated living and learning opportunity for motivated students in business and commerce. Residents participate in a variety of social, cultural, academic and service activities; develop a supportive network of friends, faculty, and future colleagues; and collaboratively plan and lead projects that enhance their classroom learning. Residents interact with a live-in faculty member and participate in a two-credit course.

Why should I participate?
This unique living situation provides a number of opportunities you might not otherwise have. COBE residents enjoy belonging to a group with similar interests; they became more involved in on-campus activities; they formed study groups to help each other with challenging classes; they are able to network with faculty and business leaders in informal settings; and they gain excellent experiences to add to their resumes.

Where will I live?

In addition, they have opportunities to interact with other COBE students, faculty and community business leaders representing the range of business disciplines.

Zeynep and Beau Hansen are both graduates of Boise State University and both were Top Ten Scholars in 1997. They have a 2-year-old son, Korbin, who enjoys living in the residence halls very much and two cats. They like outdoors activities such as camping, backpacking, hiking and rock climbing, and they are glad to be back in Boise.

Program Assistant (PA)
Jorge Cardenas
Hello everyone. My name is Jorge Cardenas and this is going to be my third year here at Boise State. I am the Program Assistant for the College of Business and Economics for this year.

My major is International Business, for now. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time include running, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, trying new things, and pretty much just being involved. I am ready and excited to be the PA for this year. I have been involved with the Student Programs Board on campus for two years, and I would just like to take all of that experience and just make this academic year a time of learning, thinking outside of the box, experiencing new things, and developing friendships that will last a lifetime.

My starting advice for everyone joining the residential college is to not be afraid to step out of your boundaries and get involved. That is some advice that I am very thankful for following. Being involved on campus, even if it is just being a volunteer, has given me many great opportunities, helped shape my resume, and just made going through college a lot easier.
