Resident Assistant
Job Description:Resident Assistants serve as an integral connection between students living in the halls and Boise State University. RA’s are selected on the basis of their leadership and communication skills, academic abilities, positive attitudes and on their commitment to helping others. They are student staff member who understand the campus and live in the residence halls. RAs are trained to handle a wide variety of situations from academic and social matters to personal concerns such as homesickness, roommate relationships, and getting involved on campus. In addition, RAs are on-call throughout the week and provide front desk staffing in the halls. They are hired and trained to assist in building a successful community.
Required qualifications:
2.4 GPA for Resident Assistant Applicants
Must have attained Sophomore status (26 or more credits)
Must sign a Housing Contract for the 2010-2011 Academic Year
Should have 1 year of group living experience
Must be willing to be a good academic role model
Must be prepared to create a positive atmosphere in your community
Preferred qualifications:
Have lived in University Housing at Boise State University
Solid communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational ability
Highly personable
Leadership experience
Remuneration:
Single room + meal plan, $1000 stipend paid in regular intervals
Opportunity to earn $7.25 per hour for additional desk hours
