Born and raised in New Hampshire, Dean joins the Bronco community after almost 7 years as Associate Director for Residential Life at California State University, Monterey Bay and the University of Houston. Dean has a BA in environmental conservation, MA in educational leadership, and Ph.D. in higher education and student affairs leadership. He is passionate about fostering student learning and success, as well as supporting education about the natural environment in which we live.  When he is not working, you will find Dean spending time with his partner, Elyssia, and two dogs, Aito and Bambou, and enjoying all the outdoor pursuits  Idaho has to offer.

Christina joined the Housing and Residence Life team in February of 2015. She was excited by the prospect of a new adventure at Boise State and to develop an intentional Residence Life program based on student learning and leadership. Originally from Oregon, Christina completed her bachelor’s of arts in sociology at Whitman College in Washington and her master’s in college student personnel at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. With a professional career based in Residence Life, she is passionate about building communities of care and respect and believes that on-campus living can be a transformational experience for students. When not supporting Boise State’s residence life staff and department growth, Christina and her partner can be found enjoying brunch downtown, exploring Boise’s thrift shops, and camping in the great outdoors of Idaho.

Kevin earned his BS in leisure studies and his MS in higher education also from Iowa State University. His experience in higher education covers 25 years and has ranged from the student recreation Program to residence life. His current work focuses on the custodial and maintenance issues of our 300 apartments and 9 residence halls.

Dan earned his BS in mechanical engineering from George Fox University and his MS in student affairs in higher education from Colorado State University. He is originally from Fruitland, ID, and has worked in Portland, OR, Fort Collins, CO, and Tacoma, WA. His current work focuses on overseeing operational functions including housing assignments, customer service, IT, conferences and guest services, and marketing.

Rebecca earned her BS in accounting from California State University, San Bernardino and her MBA from Boise State University. Her experience in the past 25 years has been as an accountant, predominantly in the private sector, for several local businesses. Her current work focuses on the business functions of Housing & Residence Life, including continual process improvement.

Taylor earned his bachelor and master’s degrees from Tiffin University in Northern Ohio and is currently completing his Ph.D. in public policy and administration at Boise State University. A firm believer in restorative based dispute resolution programs, Taylor is passionate about providing the community with opportunities to rebuild trust and repair harm when damage has been done. Prior to Boise State University, Taylor worked in student conduct, housing and residence life, first-year programming, student leadership and advocacy, and student union management at various higher education institutions across Ohio.

Michelle recently graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor’s of science in psychology and a minor in family studies. Throughout her undergraduate career, she enjoyed studying interpersonal relationships and the impact that they have on an individual.  She is pursuing her master’s degree in counseling from Boise State University on the track to become a school counselor. Michelle is passionate about working with individuals, advocating for mental health, child development, and Boise State University athletics. When not working or studying, Michelle can be found cooking or on her bike exploring Boise.

Roni’s love for working in the college environment began while serving as a student leader at Snow College (Peer Mentor) as well as the University of Utah (Orientation Leader). After receiving her BS in psychology from the University of Utah, she worked in new student orientation, leadership development, and student recruitment and high school services. After working at the University of Utah for 5 years, she went on to earn her MS in student affairs in higher education from Miami University where she served as a resident director for 2 years. Roni joined the Bronco family in 2014 and loves exploring the many recreational aspects in the Boise area. She enjoys working with many student leaders within Housing & Residence Life and welcomes many students to their home on campus each semester.

Kristin is originally from Idaho Falls, ID, and is excited to be back in the state after 20 years away. Kristin earned her BA in political science from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and her MA in higher education administration from the University of Denver. Kristin started her student affairs journey as a Resident Assistant at UNH and quickly realized she found her calling– helping other college students have transformative experiences and finding their connections to the community. Kristin went on to be a Residence Director and then switched tracks, serving in student conduct for 14 years. With a strength in community development and building, the opportunity to work with the exceptional Living Living Programs at Boise State drew her back “home” to Idaho. When not supporting Boise State’s Living Learning Programming faculty and residents, you’ll find Kristin biking around Boise with her family, volunteering in the community, or getting out into the wilderness for hiking and camping.

Evan is excited to continue in his fourth year at Boise State where he has fallen in love with the university, the city, and most of all the amazing students. His passion for student learning and development started at Colorado State University when he served as a Resident Assistant while receiving his bachelor’s degree in communication studies. From there, Evan began his professional career in student affairs working as a Resident Director at Western State Colorado University. He also worked in student programming at Oregon State University while he received his master’s degree in the college student services administration program. When not working, you can find Evan enjoying Netflix, playing games, “nerding-out” to Star Wars, or out on the town enjoying the great food Boise has to offer. Evan looks forward to building a great community, planning fun events, meeting new students, and representing the blue and orange spirit.

Vera is excited to be a part of the Bronco family! She earned her bachelor’s degree in international business and marketing from the Foster School of Business, University of Washington. Prior to Boise State, her experience was in project management and cruise logistics. Her current work focuses on guest housing during the summer season for Boise State partners and outside camps and conferences. Vera and her team strive for all their guests to have an amazing and memorable experience.

Dan grew up in the small farm town of Byron, Michigan. He went on to earn his BA in communication from Saginaw Valley State University where he was active as a resident assistant. After working outside of higher education for about a year, he decided to go back to school and get his MA in higher education/student affairs from Eastern Michigan University. Most recently, he was the Residence Life Coordinator at Central Oregon Community College and now working with our apartments program here at Boise State. In Dan’s spare time, he enjoys snowboarding and playing hockey as well as spending time with his partner, Emily, and their two cats, Zelda and Tybalt.

Originally from northern Illinois, Jordan received her undergraduate degrees in French, and politics & government from Illinois State University.  Following the completion of her undergraduate studies, Jordan worked at Illinois State University as an assistant resident director for two years.  Jordan is very excited to work with the awesome group of students living in Sawtooth Hall this year. When not working with the awesome students and staff, you will find Jordan pursuing an MBA here at Boise State, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, or spending time with her partner and their dog, Hashtag.

Originally from all over Washington state, Sam completed her undergraduate degrees in international affairs and French at Eastern Washington University. Sam is coming most recently from Clemson University in South Carolina where she received her M.Ed. in counselor education & student affairs. There she served as a graduate community director for two years and explored her enthusiasm for residence life and social justice education, which she is excited to bring to Boise State. When she is not at work, Sam can be found attempting craft projects or watching Netflix.

Zack is new to both Boise State University and Idaho, coming from the land of Wyoming. He completed his AA in communications at Northwest College and his BA in organizational communication at Montana State University Billings. Along with this education, he brings 9 years of residence life experience with him. Through that adventure, he has made it his quest to discover each student’s unique place at Boise State, help them cultivate their leadership to energize and empower them, and build meaningful and impactful relationships by “doing life” with our community. When he is not working and growing with the amazing students and staff of Boise State University, you may find him exploring the outdoors around Boise with his family, engrossed in the latest superhero movie, or dragging people to play the best board games ever. Jeremy received his BA in mathematics from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, and his MA in Gender and Cultural Studies from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Boise, Jeremy is excited to be apart of the Housing and Resident Life team, along with teaching University Foundations 100 and 200. Outside of higher-ed, he has devoted a lot of his time to anti-violence work, as a courthouse advocate for survivors of family violence and as a hotline counselor for a rape crisis center. He is passionate about building safe, inclusive communities where every member has the support they need to be successful. When not at work, you can find him cooking, hanging out with his partner and their dog, George, playing board games, or reading young adult sci-fi and fantasy.

Dustin completed his B.S. in mathematics education from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, and his M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wyoming. His passion is to develop and be a part of communities where people are actively pursuing their dreams, and encouraging one another along the way. When not at work, Dustin enjoys spending time outdoors, walking the city, and traveling to new places.

Lucas earned his B.A. in history from George Fox University and his M.A. in teaching from Willamette University.  He has spent the past eight years teaching high school social studies, leadership with an emphasis in character development, and coaching basketball in the Vancouver, WA area.  He is a current graduate student in the master of athletic leadership program at Boise State.  Originally from Beaverton, OR, Lucas is elated to finally be living somewhere the sun makes a regular appearance!  Lucas is honored to be part of the Boise State Residence Life staff and is looking forward to his work as a resident director in the thriving Bose State community.  GO BRONCOS.

Alec was raised in Newman, California but considers  San Francisco his home. As a first generation, queer, student of color, Alec attended Modesto Junior College where they received their A.A. in humanities, then moved on to San Francisco State University to earn a B.A. in communication studies and an M.A. in communication studies with emphases in gender, sexuality, race and resistance, and fat studies. While working with diverse populations at SFSU, Alec raised awareness around social justice education and advocacy through intentional curriculum and inclusive dialogue. When Alec is not teaching courses or planning the next social justice summit, they enjoy playing softball, lip-syncing for their life, and making use of their passport. Alec is a freedom fighter with a passion for life who is excited to see what Boise State has to offer – Go Broncos!

Originally from the city of Memphis, TN, Shan’Ternera (pronunciation: shan-ta-near-ree- ã) did her undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Mississippi- Ole Miss receiving bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in sociology. Shan’Ternera areas of interests include race, gender, class, and intersectionality studies. When she is not in the office, Shan’Ternera enjoys spending time with her partner and dog, Midnight. Her life mission is to advocate for the advancement of human rights, social justice, and freedom.

Jane is new to the Boise area, moving here from Coeur d’Alene.  Jane’s career spans various industries including the timber industry, cable advertising as well as previous years with the State of Idaho Industrial Commission.  Jane is an avid sports enthusiast and loves to share that passion with visitors that stop by the Housing and Residence Life offices.  Jane’s current role is as the Administrative Assistant II within Housing and Residence Life providing support to the director, associate director, assistant directors, managers, coordinators, and Living Learning Community staff/faculty to ensure quality customer service for our internal and external customers.

Charlie is a native of Idaho and has been with Boise State University for 25 years and Housing and Residence Life for 15.  He has a general studies degree with a business minor from Boise State University.   As the IT Systems Coordinator, he works with internal and external staff to meet technology needs. Charlie oversees, coordinates and makes recommendations on network hardware and software. He resolves network communication problems and maintains the residential student network.

JT is a father, husband, and marginally awesome guy. He also DJ’s on the side and has a passion for books, bikes, and beats. He spends his time with his family and friends making meaningful memories, contributing to his community, and has a love of life-long learning.  As the Assignment Coordinator, he maintains data integrity and database corrections/updates, and automation updates as needed, rates plans, room configurations, user access rights. In addition, communicates assignment decisions and other jobs critical information to Housing residents via email.

Angelica is originally from Montana, but recently relocated to Boise from a small town in eastern Oregon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration, and is excited to be back in Housing and Residence Life after working as a resident assistant during her undergraduate education. In her free time, she loves staying active, traveling, volunteering, gardening, and learning everything she can. Her primary role with Boise State is to provide support to business operations relating to items such as assignments, deposits, routine audits, and other processes.

Financial Technician

Pete has lived in the Boise area since 1976.  He has experience in accounting and bookkeeping for an insurance agency, contracting with the federal government doing reforestation, and heavy construction and logging equipment dealership sales and service. He is currently responsible for processing transactions and paperwork among university departments, including purchasing, accounts payable, account maintenance, administrative accounting. and recommends methods for purchasing and paying for items. He is also the department contact for Boise State University credit card purchases, and vendor contracts.  When not at work, Pete enjoys NFL Sunday Ticket and fishing in Idaho’s rivers and streams.

Collyn is originally from Seattle, Washington. She has a bachelor’s of business administration in human resource management from Boise State. She is responsible for posting all jobs, on-boarding new staff, completes travel authorizations, books travel, processes employee reimbursements, reviews time entry and approval for payroll accuracy.  Outside of work, Collyn enjoys spending time with her family and 2 huskies.
